What is the Sustainable Technologies Business Acceleration Hub?

We are part of a number of business hubs which have been set up through the University of Bath which are funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to deliver start-up, scale-up, open innovation and investment support to grow innovative businesses in the West of England.

Bath SETsquared is the delivery partner for the business acceleration services across the programmes.

There are currently three sectors these business hubs are operating in:

Sustainable Technology Business Acceleration Hub

  • Applications open to companies innovating in low-carbon services and products, the circular economy, renewable energy generation and storage, sustainable chemical technology, smart cities and/or sustainable built environment.

Advanced Engineering Business Acceleration Hub

  • Sector includes automotive, aerospace, maritime and large scale power generation;  IAAPS will play a central role by providing access to world leading expertise and research partnerships.

The Digital Innovation Business Acceleration Hub

  • An extension to the high tech business incubation support provided by Bath SETsquared for companies innovating in digital platforms and immersive technology; includes the health, well-being and creative media sectors.

The business hubs are fully funded and provide 12 hours of free bespoke support with the aim to help accelerate your business. With our links with the University of Bath we can provide industry collaboration opportunities - an invaluable asset for any small business. We also run sector specific events and offer market analysis through our talented pool of mentors and business consultants. There are also small grants and investment support available.

To sign up to the relevant sector hub for your business all you need to do is fill out and send an expression of interest application. Once received the project manager will be in touch and if your application is successful you will be accepted onto the programme.
